Mental Health Awareness Training

Overview

Mental Health Awareness Training is one of the mandatory care courses required to complete the Care Certificate training. It equips individuals with the knowledge to better understand mental health and create a supportive environment for others.

The training covers key topics such as understanding mental health and mental illness, recognising common mental health problems, and identifying signs that someone may be struggling.

Participants learn ways to reduce negative attitudes towards mental health, how to talk to people who may be facing mental health challenges, and how to support them early on. The course also highlights the importance of taking care of your own mental health and gives practical tips for looking after it every day.

The course covers important laws, rules, and best ways to support people going through mental health difficulties. It is aimed at healthcare workers, support staff, and anyone interested in learning about mental health. The training includes looking at practical examples within the UK and other countries, discussion around solutions for different workplaces such as offices, schools, care homes, communities, and more.

Upon completion, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to recognise mental health issues and provide appropriate care and support. The course also covers legal regulations around mental health, particularly at work.

The goal is to ensure that after finishing, our participants will be equipped to create a positive mental health environment and offer support to those in need. You will receive a level 2 certificate in Mental health Awareness which is nationally endorsed by both Skills for Care and CPD UK.
